Facebook Ads Strategy On A Budget

Advertising on Facebook is not rocket science anymore – Agreed! But, this is true if you have a big budget for advertising.

Facebook ads are one of the best ways to market your products or services and get that brand recognition you need to grow your business. You can make the most out of Facebook marketing if you have a big budget. But, if you don’t, it might be difficult to get enough conversions. Also, it’s important to remember not to set high expectations with results with a smaller, more limited budget.

Don’t stress though, there’s a way around it to get some conversions with a lower budget.

I will be explaining the strategy using the following example

Facebook ads has 3 main steps: (Campaign – Ad Set – Ad)

Campaign Type:

This is where you select type of campaign you want to run based on your marketing objectives. For this example, I will be using conversions for this campaign.

TIP: After you select your type of campaign, always make sure campaign budget optimisation is OFF. With this turned OFF – you can have multiple AD SETS with different budgets. Also, this way you could choose how you want to spend your budget (either Lifetime Budget or Daily Budget) .

Since we want to limit our spending, it is better to keep the budget optimisation set to daily budget – this gives you more control on the spending and Facebook won’t spend more than the daily ad spend you can afford.

Conversion Event:

Depends on what type of conversion you want: Getting leads from website or getting people to sign-up or purchase? Be sure what your main goal is first and then select the type of conversion event.

Facebook Audience Targeting:

Facebook’s audience targeting is ever-changing. With the recent audience changes, they have made it difficult to target specific audiences (which would have made our life a bit easier for when we don’t have big budgets).

With a limited ad budget, you’ll want to make sure you’re being very specific about who you’re targeting. You want to be very particular with your targeting because you don’t want to waste money on advertising that isn’t being seen by the correct individuals. So ensure that you really know who you’re going after. The less money you have, the less room you have to be innovative with your targeting. You want to be really focused so that you can be sure you’re speaking with the right targeted audience.

Ad Placement:

Choosing where your target audience might see your ad is very important. You wouldn’t wanna place your ad on marketplace if you think your target audience won’t be checking that space. Alternatively, you wouldn’t want to use a single image creative for a reel or Facebook video feeds.

If you want to make the best of your limited budget you have to choose the best ad placement. (This also depends on the type of product/service you want to advertise). In this example, as I am running a conversion campaign that is using a Single image, I would go for Facebook & Instagram feeds & stories. This will get you more and better conversions.

Content:

Make sure you provide as much information as you can about your product or service. It has to be in line with your target audience.

Creative:

Whether you are putting up a single image, carousel, or video, make sure it is in line with your branding. The creative used in your adverts are what will make people stop scrolling and will help people remember your product/service, so make it interesting and eye-catching. If you have good content and creative (single image or video) you may get good results/conversions.

I hope this makes your life a bit easier when you try and get conversions for your business with Facebook ads on a budget.
